Which qualifications do I need to use TradeCalc Pro?

TradeCalc Pro is designed for qualified UK tradespeople. For gas work you need Gas Safe registration. For oil work you need OFTEC registration. For electrical work you need Part P competent person scheme membership (NICEIC, NAPIT etc.). For G3 unvented systems you need an approved G3 qualification.

Are the calculations compliant with British Standards?

Yes — all calculations are built to the relevant British Standards and Building Regulations including BS 6891 (gas), BS 7671:2018+A2:2022 (electrical), BS EN 806-3 (plumbing), Building Regs Part G3 (unvented), OFTEC TB3 (oil) and more. Each calculator shows the relevant standard. Always verify calculations are appropriate for your specific installation.

Can I use the app offline on site?

Yes — TradeCalc Pro is a Progressive Web App (PWA). Install it on your phone or tablet from your browser and it will work without an internet connection. Your calculations sync automatically when you are back online.

How do I install the app on my phone?

On iPhone: Open tradecalcpro.co.uk in Safari → tap the Share button → tap "Add to Home Screen". On Android: Open in Chrome → tap the menu → tap "Add to Home Screen" or "Install App".

How do I send a certificate by email?

After completing a certificate (CP12, G3, EICR, OFTEC), tap "Send by Email" next to the Download button. Enter the recipient's email address and tap Send. The PDF is attached automatically.

What is included in the Free plan?

The Free plan includes access to all 60+ calculators with unlimited use. You get 3 free PDF downloads to try the certificate quality. After 3 downloads, upgrade to Pro for unlimited PDFs and all certificates.

How do I cancel my Pro subscription?

Go to Settings → Billing → Manage Subscription. This opens the Stripe customer portal where you can cancel. Your Pro access continues until the end of the current billing period.

Can I get a VAT receipt?

Yes — VAT receipts are available in the Stripe customer portal. Go to Settings → Billing → Manage Subscription → Billing History.

How do I add my Gas Safe number to certificates?

Go to Settings → Credentials → enter your Gas Safe Register number. It will auto-fill on all CP12 certificates automatically.

The postcode lookup is not working — what should I do?

The postcode lookup uses the free api.postcodes.io service. If it is not working, check your internet connection. You can always type the address manually in the address field below the postcode field.
